Hurdles cleared for ‘Aaranya Kaandam’

Producer S P B Charan and director Thiagarajan Kumararaja are breathing easy now. For their film ‘Aaranya Kaandam’, which was objected by the regional censor board, has been cleared by the tribunal.

“I am extremely happy. Of course, the tribunal too has asked us to make some changes. But I have no second thoughts in doing it. Because they are very much reasonable,” says the director with a sigh of relief.

Starring Jackie Shroff, Ravikrishna and Sampathraj in lead roles, ‘Aaranya Kaandam’, set in North Chennai, is a gangster story narrated by the director in a hard hitting and realistic manner.

Some violent scenes and harsh dialogues in the film earned the wrath of the censor officials and they refused to clear the film even after the producer and director requested them to issue an A certificate.
